Join the Creative Academy of San Diego for a six day drawing summer camp, consisting of 2-3 hour art lessons per day.

Over the course of a week, you will work on fine details, exercise your creative brain, and demonstrate what you’ve learned in a final themed project.

Choose a theme, choose a time to come in, and learn how to draw.

Different themes cover different subjects, so choose your favorite!

Who: Ages 10+ | All levels welcome

When: Monday to Saturday

10:00AM to 1:00PM

1:00PM to 3:00PM

3:00PM - 6:00PM

Price: $180/week per person

What You Will Learn

During the Drawing Summer Camp you will learn or expand on basics of drawing:

  • Simplify - Simplify complex compositions and shapes

  • Proportions - Find proportions from a variety of perspectives

  • Value - Learn how to translate value on paper

  • Details - See details and bring them into the simplified compositions

  • Rules of Composition - Frame subjects in a drawing.

Exercise Your Creative Brain

Through creative activities and brain games, we will develop photographic memory, learn how to focus and defocus your vision, expand your imagination, use all your senses artistically, and hone hand-eye coordination.

Imagine new flora and fauna.

The final project will combine existing plants and animals with your new inventions.

Structures & Sketches

Draw Historic Havens

Sketch robust architectural structures!

Design old mansions, dreamy castles, or abandoned ruins.

Contemporary Sketches

Design Modern Technology

Learn how to sketch consumer electronics, appliances, and other technology.

Think: phones, cars, helicopters.

Drapes & Dangles

Sketch Fashion’s Finery

This week’s theme is drawing fashion items: jewelry, clothing, shoes, etc.

The last project will consist of researching and designing a fashion item of the student’s choosing.

Facial Features

Draw Parts & Portraits

Learn how to draw the parts of a face using, with the focus on portraiture.

The final project for this week will be drawing a full portrait, blending all the parts into facial harmony.

  • Yes, ask us for packages for families of 3 or more.

  • There is no refund for No-Show for the summer camps but you are free to make-up the time when you can.
